FG sacks management of Niger Delta Holding Company of Nigeria



 Federal Government has sacked the management of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company led by James Abiodun Olotu pictured above. The sack is contained in a statement released by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal today June 10th. Chiedu Ugbo has been announced as the acting MD of the company.

 Host nation and tournament favorites France needed a late stunner from Dmitri Payet to see off Romania in a tightly contested opening game as EURO 2016 got underway.

The billionaire philanthropist says raising and selling the birds can be efficient to tackle extreme poverty and to this end, he has promised to donate 100,000 chickens.

NYSC Orientation date to be changed due to Ramadan "Muslim group"

The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, have released a statement rejecting the June 13th date fixed for the NYSC Batch A (Stream II) orientation course, arguing that the Muslim graduates expected to participate in the orientation will be fasting as the date clashes with their Ramadan fasting. The group argues that it would be very strenuous for Muslims to be fasting and also participate in the challenges task set for them during their orientation camp.

MTN Nigeria has agreed to pay the $1.7 billion(N300 bn) fine the Federal government slammed on it following their failure to deactivate 5.1 million unregistered sim cards. In a statement released today June 10th, the company said the fine will be paid within a space of 3 years

“MTN Nigeria has agreed to pay a total cash amount of N330 billion over three years”the statement read.

The Nigeria Football Federation has expressed deep shock at the death, in the early hours of Wednesday, of former Super Eagles Captain and Coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi. NFF President Amaju Pinnick was too shocked for words:

Henrietta Kosoko, the wife of Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, who died at a hospital in Abeokuta, Ogun state on Monday June 6th, after a prolonged battle with Diabetes, will be laid to rest on Friday June 10th. Jide Kosoko stated this in a statement he released today.

NSCDC arrest Herdsman for allegedly stabbing a farmer to death.



The Nasarawa State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a herdsman who allegedly stabbed a farmer identified as Nasiru Mohammed to death, following an argument over the invasion of a farm. The herdsman’s cattle had strayed into Mohammed’s farm at Angwan Arimi in Bassa Village, Kokona LGA of the state and destroyed his farm crops.

CEO of Beat FM Chris Ubosi sues Rihanna and Jay Z over canceled concerts in Nigeria .


 
 The CEO of Megalextrics, owners of Beat FM and Classic FM, Chris Ubosi is reportedly suing Rihanna and Jay Z over a 2013 canceled concert in Nigeria. This is according to TMZ. But Rihanna's management is saying they had no dealings whatsoever with the company.

Billionaire buys Playboy mansion for over $100m,allows Hugh Hefner to live there till he dies



The Playboy Mansion has been sold.The Holmby Hills estate - owned by Playboy Enterprises - has been bought by Daren Metropoulos, who lives next door to the property, according to TMZ. 
Hugh Hefner had put the estate on the market for $200 million and while the sale price has not yet been revealed, it has been claimed that it went for over $100 million.
